Originally starting life as a small garden operation back in 1990, South Essex Wildlife Hospital has quickly grown to be one of the busiest wildlife hospitals in the whole of the UK. As the only wildlife veterinary hospital covering Essex, London and Kent, the team specialises in the rescue, rehabilitation and release of more than 10,000 patients a year. Lawrie will explore the different cases and patients the team deal with on a daily basis, giving you a rare glimpse behind the scenes.

Bat and Moth Evening

Using our bat detectors to pick-up their signals, we can identify the bat species as we watch them hawking at dusk for flying insects along the rides. As darkness falls, two Moth traps will be running. This will allow us close-up views of many species that would otherwise remain a mystery to visitors
